Very interesting story, Emilie. I am one of those who's never going to look for a badminton companion. But I'm lucky that I've met some friends who don't plan to look for badminton companions like me, so sometimes we play badminton together.
ps, your illustrations are really very appealing, I like them very much:)
Very nice piece! BTW, I play badminton, pretty good too. When I arrive to a place the nobody else plays badminton, I switch to tennis… 😊 I hope you understand what I mean:)
You must have put so much to work on the illustrations that go with the story! I like them in that they work together to form your own style. Without them, the story must have felt different.
Thank you for your appreciation! Indeed, I think the illustrations add a lighter, childlike tone to the story. I've been using them in my other stories too, so the project has a more cohesive feeling. I'm so glad you like the style :)
I also hated PE and often the last one picked because I was so terrible at it. So I feel this. But in life, I've found my life badminton partner and it happened in the moment I wasn't even searching for one 😊
That's so great Tania! And it's even more special when you weren't looking for your badminton partner, but then it happens, and life is indeed unpredictable :)
What a timely post!! I so love the cute little illustrations in this post and the message that it’s okay to be by yourself as you wait for that partner. Thank you for taking the time to post!

Thank you Hajee, I'm glad you enjoy the illustrations!
It's great that you play badminton together with your friends :)
I feel this and it’s real.
Thank you for reading Strawbridge :)
1- This is one of the most creative story i ever read
2 - Many of us would have played with her. She was just unlucky that day.
Thank you very much Viam :) So happy you enjoyed the story and found it creative.
Love this! Brings back memories of when I used to run around in PE class. :')
Thank you for reading Harshini! I also wanted to portray some kind of nostalgia ;)

Yes, you adapt to another sport ;) Maybe some other sport will suit you better.
Awww! I loved this. I felt this! Always hated PE, definitely had my fair share of partnerless moments. So glad I found you on Substack!
I'm feeling grateful you could relate to this, Nida :)

Exactly, it's okay to be by yourself. It's easy to forget it, but you are already whole.
Thank you so much for reading Bekah :)
